Starting from this Thursday, Jan 11th, the St Brendan's GAA club will be running a special training camp for under 11 boys, aimed at teaching the basic skills of GAA and ultimately recruiting new players for the current season.
Brian, the club Games Promotion Officer (GPO), will be hosting these sessions in the Aughrim Street Sports Hall from 3-4pm over the course of the next 6 weeks.
The sessions are free of charge and open to all boys eligible to play for the under 11 team i.e. born in the year 2013 or 2014.
No previous GAA experience is necessary and the emphasis will be on having fun, making new friends and learning new skills.
We are looking for new players who are interested in becoming part of the team and committing to play regular matches throughout the year. The matches are held on Saturday mornings.
About St. Brendans:
St. Brendan’s GAA Club is the local GAA club in the North West Inner City, based in the Grangegorman TUD campus.
We have a second pitch on the Conyngham Road near Chapelizod, along the banks of the river Liffey.
As a club, we pride ourselves in being extremely inclusive and open to all the children from our community.
We cater for children of all religions, nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds.
Being part of a sports team will have many benefits for your child. There are the obvious health benefits but also other factors such as developing motor skills, building resilience, self-confidence and improving social skills.
We would love to welcome your child into the team and be a part of the club.
