Castleheaney, Clonee – May 17, 2025 – A beautiful sunny Saturday morning set the perfect stage for an exciting U8 Go Games hurling encounter between St Brendan's of Grangegorman and Erin Go Bragh at Castleheaney. Played out in five energetic 10-minute segments, both teams displayed fantastic effort and enthusiasm, much to the delight of the cheering spectators.

St Brendan's fielded a lively team featuring Molly, Juno, Theo, Jacob, Ruadhan, Lennox, and Daire. Lizzy was an eager unused substitute, ready to spring into action if called upon. From the first whistle, the young hurlers showed great determination, chasing every ball and demonstrating some impressive strikes and blocks for their age.

The match was a vibrant display of skill and teamwork from both sides. Each segment saw periods of strong attacking play and resilient defending, with every player contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable spectacle. While the Go Games format focuses on participation and skill development rather than competitive scoring, it was clear that all the children were fully immersed in the joy of the game.

After the final whistle, the good spirits continued as players and supporters alike enjoyed delicious rice crispy bun treats, lovingly made by Lynda. The shared snacks provided a sweet end to a morning filled with sporting fun, camaraderie, and the promise of many more hurling matches to come.

The U8 Go Games continue to be a fantastic platform for young hurlers to learn, develop, and most importantly, enjoy the national game in a positive and supportive environment.
